An ice rink 163 metres long in the centre of Riccione!
The ice rink was dedicated to the unforgotten Marco Simoncelli and is called SIC58 On Ice. Thousands of people were present at the opening of this record-breaking ice rink in Viale Ceccarini in Riccione. Among them were Marco Simoncelli’s father, Paolo, the mayor of Riccione and Coriano (Simoncelli’s hometown), Renata Tosi and Domenica Spinelli. Also the assessor for tourism of the Emilia Romagna region Andrea Corsini.
“More than 20 km of cooling pipes, 700 pairs of skates and a power connection that could supply a small village were necessary to realise this project. The ice rink has to function perfectly even in warm temperatures by the sea. More than 3,000 skaters are expected every day.”
“It was again a great challenge for us, which we proudly accepted. Thanks to our experience in large events, we know the requirements of our customers. Exceeding them is our most important goal. In Italy alone, over 95 of our ice rinks are in operation this year. In addition, other markets in Europe are growing exceptionally strongly.”
